NHS PHARMACY FIRST PLUS

This service builds upon the existing NHS "pharmacy first" service (previously known as the minor ailments service).  

By utilising prescribing pharmacists we can assess and treat a range of common clinical conditions beyond the scope of the standard NHS Pharmacy First Service, to help reduce pressures on our colleagues in general practice. 

Common clinical conditions that can be treated include (but not limited to)

• Urinary tract infections
• Respiratory infections
• Ear, nose and throat
• Dermatological conditions
• Allergies
• Eye infections  

Prescribing under the Pharmacy First Plus service will always be in line with local health board formularies.
